Michael Weaver, MD
Dr. Weaver is a member and medical director of FONEMED. He is a board certified emergency medicine physician and was the Medical Director for St. Luke’s Hospital Level I Trauma Emergency Services in Kansas City for 17 years. In addition to emergency care, he is now the Medical Director of the hospital’s Forensic Care Program and VP of Clinical Diversity. He lectures and teaches extensively on healthcare topics and is a Clinical Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine. He is a consultant to the US military on issues of prevention of sexual violence. In addition, he was co-director for Spirit of Kansas City Life Flight, past president of the Missouri Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and is Co- Chair for the Forensic Section of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has provided medical care in underserved areas internationally, during national disasters and has worked as a cruise ship physician. He has been a member of the Missouri American College of Surgeons, Trauma Center Review Team, the Emergency Department Consumer Report Advisory Committee, and is currently on the Board of Directors at St. Luke’s Hospital and the Missouri Board of Health. He is one of 57 Cultural Competency Fellows, designated by the American Hospital Association and Health Research Educational Trust and has a research focus on disparities in healthcare. Dr. Weaver graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine.
