Advancing the Telehealth Industry
Firstly, a word of thanks
For many of us, the holidays are a time for reflection upon the events of the past year and looking forward to the promise of the new year. It’s a time to take stock of what has been accomplished and to set goals and develop plans for the future.
In today’s post we would like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank our customers, web visitors and friends on social media for helping us build a unique, ever-expanding forum to discuss ideas relevant to the telehealth industry, and healthcare in general, through our blog.
Our endeavor into the blogosphere started with a vision to create, curate and deliver high-quality, trusted information that is clear, concise, and devoid of unnecessary industry jargon. We sought to produce information that helped illuminate healthcare concepts and services and connect them with real business value.
We wanted to go beyond simply trend-spotting. We wanted to engage a wide spectrum of industry stakeholders by producing information that is factual, relevant, and share our genuine excitement about the future of the telehealth industry. From payers to providers, students to startups, we are all at once fascinated by the direction of healthcare in the 21st-century.
Looking back at where we’ve been
2015 represented a seismic shift in the healthcare industry. One that has presented challenges for industry newcomers and veterans alike. We’ve seen numerous healthcare companies come to grips with new technologies, new service models and a constantly evolving legislative environment. Let’s face it – change can be hard, but in business, as in life, it’s one thing that will always remain constant.
Over the course of the year we covered topics such as: behavioral health, telehealth options for ACOs, HRSA requirements for FQHCs, reducing hospital readmissions, corporate wellness programs, and addressing the epidemic of sexual assaults on college campuses, to name a few.
At Fonemed, we understand just how vitally important industry collaboration and knowledge sharing can be, and how these pursuits aid us all in delivering better care and improving patient satisfaction. We heartily encourage your feedback and participation. Join us in making a better healthcare industry!
The telehealth industry and looking ahead to 2016
In the coming months, we will be continuing to examine the issues facing the telehealth industry in the new year. Here’s a hint a few things to come.
- Will 2016 be the year of ACO’s as touted by many in the industry press? What services can drive value for these organizations?
- What are the best options for healthcare organization’s seeking to improve their transition to a service model that emphasizes value over volume?
- What do changing patient preferences mean for your healthcare organization’s future?
- What measures can be taken to improve member utilization of healthcare services for benefit providers and health plans?
…and many more, so stay tuned.
Wishing you all the best in the new year,
Fonemed
