A Message from Our CEO
The last few weeks have been the most challenging and emotional times most of us can recall. The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has been felt by individuals, families, companies and communities across the nation.
The need for medical services has reached unprecedented levels, as reflected in the exponential increase in Fonemed call volume from callers seeking medical advice.
Fonemed anticipated the spike in call volume that the COVID-19 pandemic would generate. Preparations began early on, as the situation began unfolding and rapidly spread across the globe. Fonemed began an unprecedented recruitment campaign to rapidly increase staff to meet call demand. Clinical supervisors have trained and deployed new batches of RNs on a weekly basis and will continue to do so as the demand for service escalates.
In additional to significantly increasing our team of registered nurses and front-line staff, Fonemed has adjusted the clinical protocols used in assessments to meet best practice recommendations for screening and treatment. Our team closely follows, and takes guidance, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
These are difficult and uncertain times for everyone, but Fonemed remains committed to helping communities stabilize by ensuring the best use of emergency rooms and health care facilities.
We recognize our responsibility to provide callers with the best nurse advice service available. I am proud to report that our staff delivers on that promise every day.
